The Bridge Learning Community (TBLC) Community Coordinator plays a central role in supporting the daily operations, community connections, and physical space that make The Bridge a welcoming, vibrant learning hub. This role blends event coordination, member support, facility management, and community communication. The Coordinator ensures that programs run smoothly, members feel welcomed and connected, and the building is well cared for and ready to support learning, collaboration, and play.
This position is ideal for someone who is highly organized, people-centered, and enjoys wearing many hats to help grow and support our values-driven, community-based organization.
Help plan, organize, and support monthly classes, workshops, and community gatherings at The Bridge.
Coordinate schedules with facilitators and support them with logistics as needed.
Ensure events run smoothly by preparing spaces, communicating details, and troubleshooting issues.
Use Sawyer software to create and manage class schedules.
Support community members in navigating Sawyer (registration, schedules, accounts).
Serve as a welcoming point of contact for individuals and families interested in becoming TBLC members.
Give tours of The Bridge and answer questions about membership, programs, and community norms.
Sign up new members using Sawyer, including:
Creating accounts
Providing access codes
Ensuring agreements and waivers are signed
Help new members get plugged into the community by:
Sharing upcoming events and opportunities
Supporting chore sign-ups and participation
Maintain and regularly update The Bridge Learning Community calendar.
Ensure all events, classes, meetings, and rentals are accurately listed.
Coordinate with staff, facilitators, and regular renters to avoid scheduling conflicts.
Communicate calendar updates as needed to keep the community informed.
Respond to inquiries and requests for space rentals.
Determine whether rental requests are a good fit for TBLC’s mission and space.
Walk renters through the rental process, expectations, and agreements.
Coordinate access to the building and ensure renters have what they need.
Follow up to confirm spaces are clean and reset after events.
Coordinate with regular renters (e.g., scouts, quilt group, wrestling group).
Respond to issues, questions, or special requests from renters.
Serve as the primary point person for building maintenance needs.
Maintain (and/or create) a “Building Binder” with key information such as:
Maintenance contacts
Building systems information
Procedures and troubleshooting notes
Monitor the building and identify areas that may need repairs.
Coordinate or ensure someone local is available to respond to:
Alarm alerts
Doors left open or urgent building issues
Track regularly used supplies and order replacements as needed.
Monitor and respond to emails sent to info@thebridgelearningcommunity.org, or direct messages to the appropriate person.
Respond to voicemails and direct voicemail inquiries as needed.
Serve as the general point of contact for questions, requests, or inquiries that do not clearly fall under another volunteer or staff role.
Communicate with warmth, clarity, and alignment with TBLC’s values.
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Comfortable using scheduling and registration software
Friendly, welcoming, and community-oriented
Clear and professional communicator (written and verbal)
Self-directed and able to problem-solve independently
Reliable and attentive to details
Comfortable coordinating logistics and managing multiple responsibilities
Aligned with The Bridge Learning Community’s mission and values
Combination of on-site work at The Bridge and some remote administrative tasks
Regular interaction with families, facilitators, renters, volunteers, and community members
Active role that includes desk work, walking the building, and light physical tasks related to setup and maintenance coordination
